Meet Vicky Cabanas, Plant II Manager
Vicky Cabanas knows what it means to be the last stop.
As Plant II Manager, she oversees the team responsible for final assembly and shipping. Plant I produces most of the parts; Plant II brings those parts together, completes the units and prepares them to leave the building.
“We are the ones who get it over the finish line and finalize that famous Atlas quality,” Vicky says. “It feels really good to be part of that.”
That responsibility is something she takes personally. Before any unit ships, her crew visually and mechanically tests it to make sure it meets Atlas standards. The quality department verifies each unit, and Vicky personally inspects products before they go out.
For Vicky, quality comes from a team that trusts one another. Many members of her crew have worked together for years, and she describes them as family.
“We all look good because we make each other look good,” she says.
Vicky’s own Atlas story began 14 years ago as a shipping coordinator handling paperwork and data entry. But even from a side office, she was watching the production floor and noticing ways to improve it.
When she saw employees losing time moving crates to find orders, she brought an idea to management: give her one Saturday and four men, and she would reorganize the space. He trusted her. The improvement worked and little by little, she helped organize more of the floor.
Eventually, Vicky moved to the floor full-time to keep learning. A year later, she became a supervisor. Today, she manages the plant.
“Working hard every single day, I was able to grow with the company,” she says.
That experience shaped the way she leads now. Her managers believed in her ideas, and she wants to offer that same trust to her employees. She listens, welcomes opinions and wants her team to feel comfortable speaking up — even when they disagree.
“Tell me what you think,” she says. “If I’m wrong, tell me.”
After 14 years with Atlas, Vicky’s story is one of growth, trust and pride in the final details. She leads the team that sends Atlas products into the world, but her real work is building a team that feels heard, valued and ready to finish strong.
